The brotherhood begins. Today at E3, Ubisoft dropped a bombshell by announcing the next entry into the famed Assassin’s Creed series with Origins. The game was showcased at the Xbox E3 press conference.
The trailer (shown below) introduced players to Bayek, a new assassin that will tie in with the founding of the assassin brotherhood that we’ve been introduced to over the course of several games.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins will support the Xbox One X (the new system announced by Microsoft) and in 4K resolution. During the conference, the creative team members walked everyone through a first look at gameplay which showcased the wide scope of the ancient world that gamers will soon be able to navigate through.
Running on 4K, the game looked incredible with fantastic detail in the village as the player rides on a horse. The most exciting moment was the discovery that, not only will you be in control of Bayek, but also his loyal bird that will allow you to scope ahead and see what people are doing. It’s a great way to point out potential targets.
Gameplay is similar to past Assassin’s Creed games. You’ll be able to use the environment to move around like crawling up walls and shoot enemies with a bow and arrow. The larger environment hints at an even deeper experience for gamers.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins will be released on October 27th 2017 for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.
