According to a report by  Entertainment Weekly, Dazzler, the character that was rumored to appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, will have a role in the upcoming sequel, X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

The role, which was confirmed by 20th Century Fox, won’t be a big one and will only appear in a small capacity. At this time, there is no mention of Taylor Swift playing her in the film. Swift was rumored to be appearing as Dazzler in Apocalypse.  The character did have a small Easter egg in the 2016 film but it did not make the final cut.

First appearing in Uncanny X-Men #130 in February 1980, Dazzler’s character was a “disco-queen,” but she never reached the popularity that would warrant a film appearance. She has been a regular member of the X-Men-verse since.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be the direct sequel to X-Men Apocalypse and will take place in the 1990’s. Directed by Simon Kinberg, the film will be inspired by The Dark Phoenix Saga, one of the most popular X-Men stories of all time.
