Rumor: Warner Bros. Reportedly Releasing 3-4 DCEU Films A Year
Written By: Nick Poulimenakos
With Wonder Woman being the first film in the DCEU that was both a critical and commercial success, fans are eager to see what the future holds for Batman, Superman and the rest of the DC Extended Universe. However, the only films that are actually confirmed are Justice League being released in November and Aquaman premiering in 2018. One rumor however says that Warner Bros. and DC are about to change everything.
According to Umberto Gonzalez, who spoke on the Heroic Insider video podcast, he said “I know for a fact that DC is trying to get three to four movies made a year going forward.” Huge right?
Now, this should 100% be taken with a grain of salt for now. Gonzalez has broken scoops in the past, but he is also known for getting various rumors wrong. It isn’t entirely implausible however when you look at the slate of DCEU properties currently in development.
Along with The Batman, The Flash, Shazam, Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps, DC announced that films focusing on Batgirl, Nightwing, Justice League Dark, Gotham City Sirens and Black Adam are happening. On top of all that, sequels for Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Justice League and Suicide Squad are rumored to be in development as well.
Gonzalez went on to say that DC will make a big statement at Hall H this year at San Diego’s Comic Con. “If I were you guys, I’d make sure I’d be inside Hall H this summer.”
