After skipping the 2016 edition, FOX will make its return to San Diego Comic-Con this year and, despite various rumors, might be bringing Deadpool 2 along for the ride.
It has not been confirmed as to what exactly FOX will be showcasing at Comic-Con this year but their Marvel side is a good place to start. Along with the newest TV show Gifted, which is getting ready to premiere later this year, FOX has several X-Men movies in development such as New Mutants, X-Men Dark Phoenix and of course, Deadpool 2. The merc with a mouth was previously rumored to not be making an appearance but according to a tweet from one cast member, it looks like that isn’t the case anymore. Stefan Kapicic, who plays Colossus, tweeted the following this morning:
Now, obviously this isn’t a 100% confirmation that Deadpool 2 will be making a splash at SDCC this year, but it does turn some heads. Kapicic did specifically use the words “mutants are coming” in the tweet along with tagging all of the films in development, including the rumored X-Force film. This could also possibly hint at Kapicic taking the Colossus character to another Marvel property but that is pure speculation. Either way, it seems that FOX is looking to make a statement when it returns to Hall H and the X-Men are the best way to do it.
New Mutants is scheduled to be released on April 3, 2018 while Deadpool 2 fights its way into theatres on June 1, 2018 and finally, X-Men: Dark Phoenix flies into cinemas on November 2, 2018.
