Marvel’s The Defenders will be the culmination of everything that occurred during phase of the Marvel/Netflix-verse and will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist to battle one of New York’s biggest threats, The Hand. While the show does bring phase one to a close, we now know that it will also directly lead into the next phase of Marvel’s Netflix universe thanks to star Finn Jones.
During an interview with Digital Spy, Jones confirmed that the series “feels like the end of Phase One” and “the beginning of another phase,” and teased the game changing events fans will witness:
“Let’s just say there are certain events that happen at the end of The Defenders which are going to rock everyone’s world. So people aren’t going to be the same after the end of The Defenders.”
Jones then previewed what fans can expect from the relationship between Luke Cage and Danny Rand:
“The way that Marco’s written Danny and Luke is really clever – it’s not on the nose, and it feels relevant. The pairing feels relevant, which I think is the most important thing.”
