Justice League has had quite an exciting day. Earlier, it was announced that Warner Bros. had screened the film to several lucky fans who were on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in California. While most who saw the film said they could not speak about the quality of the film, several sites have reported anonymous fans coming forward with quick reviews. One called the film “fine” while several others said it was “epic.” Now, one site is claiming to know the fate of one character in the film and it isn’t a good one.
According to Batman News, Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Lex Luthor in the DCEU will not appear in Justice League with his scenes being cut from the feature. The site claims that their sources are three fans who went to the secret screening.
While Eisenberg was confirmed to appear in Justice League when the film was first announced, his role has been shrouded in mystery ever since Joss Whedon was brought in to finish the film.
Obviously, we can’t 100% confirm that Eisenberg won’t be in the film. So take this report with a grain of salt. However, it should also be noted that the cut of Justice League that was screened is not the final version. So it is possible for his scenes to be added back.
Lex not appearing in Justice League would be a slight shock as he is technically the only one who knows about Steppenwolf’s incoming invasion of Earth. Then again, if the trailers of the film proved anything, it’s that Bruce Wayne has also figured out that a giant threat is coming and it’s time to unite the league.
