When Steppenwolf and his army of parademons wreak havoc on earth, Batman will need all the help he can get and that’s where Wonder Woman and her immense strength come in. However, beyond her skills, the one the that the team will need the most is Diana keeping the team together and level headed.
According to Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, Diana will act as the glue that keeps the team together when going up against such a daunting enemy:
“For me it was important that she be the glue of the team. I think that one of the special and beautiful things about Diana is that she cares for people in the most sincere way. So in her scenes, I made sure that she would make every one of them feel stronger, loved and capable. The story in Justice League is far bigger than Diana; it’s about the entire League.”
Speaking with DC All Access, Gadot knows that Diana’s compassion and empathy is why the Wonder Woman character resonates with fans and is what she’ll use to keep the team from falling apart. But, this doesn’t mean that she’ll be any less lethal when it comes to fighting. Diana has been away from fighting with a group for a while and she will have a bit of adjusting to do when it comes to fighting alongside heroes like Aquaman and The Flash but Gadot says that this will only increase her care for them:
“I think the only difference is that they have to work together. It’s like a dance. One of them should set up the hit and then another should deliver it at the perfect time. I think that fighting alongside the team puts more stress on Diana, because she doesn’t want anything to happen to any of them.”
So, while Diana hasn’t been fighting for quite a number of years, she’ll still be the ass kicker we all know and love. It may take a while to adjust to fighting with a new team, but Diana knows that they are all humanity has to ensure a chance for survival.
Justice League hits theatres on November 16, 2017.
