‘The Punisher’s’ Jon Bernthal on Frank Castle and Micro’s Relationship

Written By: Mathew ‘JJ’ Simoes

We are just 2 weeks away from the highly anticipated release of Marvel’s The Punisher and the show will not only finally give Marvel’s most brutal hero a proper spotlight, his supporting characters from the comics will also get a chance to shine.

When Frank Castle returns to the crime ridden city of New York, he’ll be joined by legendary hacker David Lieberman a.k.a. Micro. But according to Jon Bernthal, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Micro character will not just be the show’s comic relief.

Bernthal explained that Micro and Castle’s dynamic will leave little to no room for laughs:

“I do think there’s a sense of humor to Frank Castle, but there is absolutely nothing  tongue-in-cheek about [their interactions]. The last thing in the world he can give a sh– about is making someone else laugh.”

As the first trailer showed, Castle isn’t the only one to have his family brutally taken away from him. Micro was seen being restrained as he watched his wife and children being taken, presumably by the same men that attacked Castle. This will inevitably lead to a meeting between the two where they will team up to take out their common enemies.
