The deal between Walt Disney and 21st Century Fox may be becoming a reality sooner than previously thought.

According to CNBC, the report suggests that the two sides are incredibly close to closing the deal that would move most of Fox’s assets, including the 20th Century Fox movie studio and various Fox T.V networks. Not included in the deal would be Fox’s news and sports networks.

Current estimates for the price of the deal is seen above $60 billion according to sources. Current Fox shareholders would receive one share of the Fox company that remains after the movie and television assets are sold in addition to shares of Disney in a fixed exchange ratio.

With this deal, Disney would finally gain the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four Marvel characters, allowing them to finally incorporate them into their Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney would also receive the distribution rights to the original Star Wars trilogy along with James Cameron’s Avatar franchise, the Alien franchise and more.
