While The Avengers will be busy fighting Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, their future adventures may continue on the cosmic trend.
At the CCXP Marvel panel, Kevin Feige spoke about The Avengers and their future path should they survive their war with the Mad Titan, Thanos. When asked if the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in space, Feige had this to say:
“If the Avengers survive, we will see more films with them in space. I love and would like to see more films in space.”
Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of everything we’ve seen in the MCU so far and Thanos has already proven to be their most formidable foe yet simply based off of the first trailer. After the film, and Avengers 4, Earth’s mightiest heroes will have a greater understanding of what lies beyond our planet and will most likely deal with previously unexplored threats.
Additionally, James Gunn has already said that he and Kevin Feige are working together to map out the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s cosmic side. Gunn has spearheaded the MCU’s cosmic wing through his Guardians of the Galaxy films.
Not only that, but if the deal between Disney and Fox happens, Marvel would finally gain access Fantastic Four properties like Galactus, Silver Surfer, Annihilus, and the negative zone along with the entire space side of the X-Men universe.
