Disney is preparing to to dominate the
box office for the foreseeable future as they announced today many new additions to its release schedule from now until 2023. Check out the schedule below!
The above listing includes Avengers: Infinity War which had its release date moved up to April 27, 2018. Additionally, the live-action Mulan film was delayed to March 27, 2020.
Disney also announced six more Marvel films following the release of the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Sources point to these films being the third Guardians of the Galaxy film, a Black Panther sequel, a solo Black Widow film as well as several films that have yet to be announced. I also would not doubt it if Disney is planning to fill some of those dates with X-Men or Fantastic Four reboots.
Disney also confirmed that Indiana Jones will be getting yet another sequel, this time coming in 2020 with Steven Spielberg set to return to the director’s chair and Harrison Ford reprising his role as the titular adventurer. Also, look for Disney to fill some of these release dates with Star Wars films, possibly more anthology films or the new trilogy that is coming from Rian Johnson.
Finally, Pixar will also see at least one film being released per year. Andrew Stanton, who directed Finding Nemo & WALL-E, has said that once Pixar finishes work on Toy Story 4, the studio will move away from sequels in favour of more original films.
Avengers: Infinity War flies into theatres on April 27, 2018.
