‘Narcos’ Star Pedro Pascal Lands Mystery Role in ‘Wonder Woman’ Sequel

With Wonder Woman quickly becoming one of the biggest and best superhero films in history, DC and Warner Bros. wisely ordered a sequel shortly after the first film’s release. Now, the film is looking to round out its main cast as it adds a Game of Thrones star.
In an exclusive report by Variety, Director Patty Jenkins has cast Pedro Pascal for a key role in her Wonder Woman sequel starring Gal Gadot.
The followup to the 2017 smash hit see’s Pascal joining Kristen Wiig, who has landed the role as the film’s main antagonist, Cheetah. The film would mark the second time Pascal and Jenkins have worked together, having previously teamed up on the TV movie Exposed.
Plot details are still being kept under wraps, as is the character Pascal will be playing.
When the announcement of Wonder Woman 2 hit the web, DC quickly announced that Jenkins would be returning to co-write, direct, and produce the feature. Following the news was that the studio has slated the movie for Nov. 1, 2019.
Wonder Woman has been the standout in DC’s cinematic universe, grossing $821 million worldwide, including $412 domestically. It scored incredibly well with critics, earning a nomination from the Producers Guild as one of the best films of 2017.
Pedro Pascal gained traction in Hollywood with his show-stealing performance as Oberyn Martell in HBO’s Game of Thrones. That role would lead to another star-making turn in Netflix’s drama series Narcos.
Following the success of both series’, Pascal has begun to move into the film world. He was most recently seen in Fox’s Kingsmen: The Golden Circle and can be seen next starring opposite Denzel Washington in Antoine Fuqua’s sequel to The Equalizer.
