Wonder Woman 2 has become one of the most anticipated comic book movies in recent memory and, as of now, details about the film have been kept under wraps.
That is, until recently where a new rumor has begun circulating online about the films main villain, Cheetah. According to Omega Underground, Kristen Wiig, who has been cast as Cheetah, will be bringing the Barbara Ann Minerva version to the big screen.
The website states that a good chance that Barbara is a colleague as Diana has her own interest in antiquities but how he Soviet Union antagonists and American elements factor in here has yet to be revealed.
The third Cheetah to debut in DC Comics, British archaeologist Dr. Barbara Ann Minerva was born as the heiress of a vast fortune in the ancient family site in Nottinghamshire. Ambitious, selfish, and severely neurotic, Barbara develops a passion for archaeology that eventually led her to search out a tribe in Africa who utilizes a female guardian with the powers of a cheetah.
As of now, this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt as Warner Bros. and DC Comics have yet to confirm OU’s findings. Cheetah has frequently been hailed as Wonder Woman’s archenemy and with the Barbara Ann Minerva incarnation arugably being the best and most recognized version of the character, it is easy to see why DC would choose to use her in the Gal Gadot led sequel.
Wonder Woman 2 is set to debut in theatres on November 1, 2019
