Randall Park (Ant-Man and the Wasp, Fresh off the Boat) has joined the cast of DC’s upcoming standalone film, Aquaman.
The film’s director, James Wan, took to Twitter today to reveal Park has been added to the cast as Dr. Shin during the film’s pickups. In the comics, Dr. Stephen Shin was a scientist and friend of Tom Curry who helped a young Arthur Curry develop his abilities. He later became obsessed with discovering the location of the lost city of Atlantis. Check out Wan’s announcement below!
Park joins the cast of the film which stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius/Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko.
Plot details remain a secret, however, Wan’s upcoming swashbuckling action-adventure centered on the King of Atlantis will dive much deeper into the character and why he should wear the mantle of King.
Aquaman is currently slated to hit theaters on December 14, 2018.
