With Avengers: Infinity War being Marvel Studios’ biggest film to date, it’s no surprise that the studio, along with Disney, will want to take every moment they can to get the highly anticipated sequel right and now, we have learned that Avengers 4 will indeed get reshoots. Additional filming is set to take place this summer.
The news comes from Christopher Marc of Omega Underground, who states that additional photography is scheduled for this summer in both Atlanta and New York City, and is expected to wrap up by September 1st.
Plot details for Avengers 4 currently remain under wraps. The film completed principal photography back in January of this year and is said to be a conclusion to all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films that have come before it and a turning point for the MCU as the heroes begin to understand the sacrifices that must be made in order to hold together our fragile reality. The film will set the stage for phase four of the MCU, which has been called very different from all previous phases as well as reportedly taking on a more cosmic feel.
The currently-untitled Avengers 4 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 3, 2019.
