Highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man by Insomniac Games has gone gold. The studio paired the announcement with the classic sitting Spider-Man meme, which hopefully alludes to the humorous nature of the upcoming game.
We are pleased to announce that #SpiderManPS4 has GONE GOLD for its worldwide release on September 7th. Thanks to @PlayStation and @MarvelGames for their support in the creation of this original Spider-Man adventure. pic.twitter.com/iD4mJmqGfK

The game stars Peter Parker as an experienced Spider-man struggling to live a normal life while protecting New York City. We see him interact with Aunt May and Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales at a shelter run by Martin Li, the split personality of villain Mr. Negative.
Spider-Man also features many iconic Spider-Man villains such as Electro, Rhino, Vulture, and the Scorpion, and hinted in the E3 Demo, a mysterious entity that ties these characters together. Could it be Kingpin, or Spider-Man’s arch nemesis Green Goblin?
