Hot off Mission: Impossible Fallout, Rebecca Ferguson is reportedly being set for the female lead in the Men in Black spinoff opposite Chris Hemsworth. She has separately closed her deal to play the scary Rose the Hat in Doctor Sleep, based on the Stephen King novel that continues the story line King started in The Shining.
The report comes from Deadline who states that Ferguson will in fact play the female lead in the film; a role that many thought was already locked in for Tessa Thompson, who was a part of the initial announcement for the spinoff/sequel film.
Not much is known about the next installment in the Men in Black franchise but the premise states that “A London-based team of Men in Black (MIB) secret agents become involved in a murder mystery that sends them traveling the globe.” With ‘team” being mentioned, it would not come as a shock to see Hemsoworth’s Agent H working in tandem with both Thompson and Ferguson to solve the next big alien crisis.
Sony Pictures’ MIB will follow, with Hemsworth starring alongside Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Rafe Spall, and Kumail Nanjani and is set to be released on June 14, 2019.
