According to That Hashtag Show, Marvel Studios is developing a film based on the Dark Avengers comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato Jr. This source states that a draft of the script has been finished for the studio, although there is no information regarding the writer.
This is one of several films being developed by Marvel Studios and there is no indication that Dark Avengers will ever move beyond the scripting stage. Even so, this could be an interesting addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The team was originally introduced during a status quo shift that placed some of Marvel’s most notorious villains in charge of United States security — something that would make a great post-Avengers 4 change for the decade old franchise. Perhaps something will occur that causes the world’s governments to lose faith in ‘traditional’ heroes. Maybe the first sign will be a Norman Osborn cameo or reference in the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, Far From Home.
