John Krasinski to Return as Director for ‘A Quiet Place’ Sequel, Emily Blunt to Return Too

Earlier today, John Krasinski, co-writer, director and star of A Quiet Place, confirmed that its sequel is in development and that it will be coming out in May 2020. Krasinski confirmed the news via Twitter and Instagram

News on the cast has also been released. According to Deadline, Emily Blunt will be returning for the sequel. There have yet to be any plot details on the upcoming sequel, but judging by this detail, it’s likely that the film will follow the surviving characters from the first film: Emily Blunt’s Evelyn Abbot and her two children, played by Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe.

A Quiet Place ended up earning around $340 million at the global box office last year and has been nominated for several awards including a Writers Guild nomination in Original Screenplay and an Academy Award for sound editing. It won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Blunt in the supporting actress category.

Production is expected to begin in July, with Brad Fuller and Andrew Form serving as producers.
