The reign of Fortnite appears to be coming to an end.
Respawn has revealed that in exactly a month since launch, Apex Legends has reached 50 million players. This follows hitting 1 million players in eight hours, 10 million in three days and 25 million in its first week.
The milestone shatters Epic Games’ Fortnite record of 45 million players in 100 days. Apex’s massive download count number signifies that its meteoric rise to the top was nowhere near the fluke its critics made it out to be.

Gaming insiders have pointed to the developer’s continued engagement with players, and willingness to step outside the bounds of traditional play is a big draw for the massive audience the game has built.
