Netflix to Develop Modern ‘Three Musketeers’ Movie With Writer Harrison Query

Alexandre Dumas‘ classic adventure tale, The Three Musketeers, has been retold time after time. Now, Netflix has stepped up to the plate and plans to take the popular story.  According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming service has picked up Harrison Query’s pitch for a modern take on the Dumas classic.

The Three Musketeers tells the story of a young man named D’Artagnan who aspires to join the illustrious King’s guard known as the Musketeers. After he’s denied membership, he meets Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, three of the most famous musketeers, and finds himself wrapped up in an unimaginable journey.

Since Query’s pitch was only recently picked up, there isn’t much that’s known about the film. Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless are producing through Screen Arcade along with Scott Glassgold and his company Ground Control Entertainment. The project is said to have been described as having a tone similar to Mission Impossible.

This is the second project from Query that Netflix has picked up. The first came in 2017 when the company bought Query’s Warparty, a military-themed movie which has Ridley Scott producing, Tom Hardy starring and Andrew Dominik directing and co-writing.
