Storm Reid is making the trip from Camazotz to the world of Universal Monster Movies.
Today, it was announced that the A Wrinkle in Time star has officially joined The Invisible Man remake in the works from Universal and Blumhouse Productions. The film already has Upgrade director Leigh Whannell attached to helm the project and Elisabeth Moss as its lead star.
The Invisible Man stems from the H.G. Wells novel that was adapted into the 1933 black-and-white classic starring Claude Rains. Reid will play the role of Sydney, opposite Moss in the remake of the classic Universal monster tale.
The remake will centre on Moss’s Cecilia, who, after hearing about the news of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s suicide, attempts to rebuild her life for the better. One major problem facing her however, is that she begins to suspect her deceased lover is not actually dead.
Reid’s character of Sydney is dealing with the loss of her mother. She picks up the maternal slack and likes having Cecilia around as a role model, but grows mistrustful of her when strange things begin to happen around the house.
Reid is also set to appear in the Netflix limited series When They See Us and the HBO series Euphoria.
