Michael B. Jordan-Produced Sci-Fi Drama ‘Raising Dion’ Sets October Premiere on Netflix; Unveils First Look Images

Netflix has unveiled the first look at Raising Dion, their latest sci-fi offering, based on the comic book of the same name by Dennis Liu.

The streaming giant will launch the series, which stars Jason Ritter, Michael B. Jordan, Alisha Wainwright and Ja’Siah Young, on October 4.  Netflix has also released the first images from the series, which you can see in the gallery below!

Raising Dion follows “the story of a woman named Nicole Reese (Wainright), who raises her son Dion after the death of her husband Mark (Jordan). The normal dramas of raising a son as a single mom are amplified when Dion starts to manifest several magical, superhero-like abilities. Nicole must now keep her son’s gifts secret with the help of Mark’s best friend Pat (Ritter), and protect Dion from antagonists out to exploit him while figuring out the origin of his abilities.”

Carol Barbee acts as showrunner with exec producers including Jordan, Kenny Goodman, Kim Roth, Dennis Liu, Michael Green, and Charles D. King’s MACRO.

The series was given a straight-to-series order by Netflix and the first season will consist of nine episodes.
