Marvel Studios Developing ‘Ms. Marvel’ Series for Disney+

Kamala Khan is officially coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Today, THR broke the news that Marvel Studios is developing a Ms. Marvel series for the Disney+ streaming platform. Bisha K. Ali has been tapped to write and act as showrunner. Ali is a comedian who is currently a staff writer on Hulu’s remake of Four Weddings and a Funeral.

The series will chronicle the MCU’s first Muslim superhero, and is based on the comic book of the same name. Created by editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker, writer G. Willow Wilson, and artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie, Kamala Khan is Marvel’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic book.

Her identity as a Pakistani American, living in a religious family in New Jersey, while trying to find her own way, has been a major focus of the comic’s narrative. Her powers have been described as polymorphous, meaning she has the ability to stretch and change her shape.

There is no timetable on when the series will be released, but keep it locked on Talkies Network for all the latest on the newly announced MCU series!
