Female-Led ‘Arrow’ Spinoff in Development at The CW

The CW is developing a spinoff of it’s Arrow series, which would center on three of its female characters: Mia Smoak/Green Arrow, played by Katherine McNamara, and the Canaries Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake, played by Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy.

In March, the studio announced that the eighth season of Arrow would be it’s last. The Arrow-verse has become a huge success for The CW, with The Flash being ranked as one of its most-watched series. With clear evidence of a successful product in hand, The CW is planning on leaning deeper into female-led programming that still takes place in the Arrow-verse, such as the upcoming Batwoman series and this newly announced Arrow spinoff.

The potential series is set to air during Arrow‘s final season, which starts October 15. Showrunners Beth Schwartz, Marc Guggenheim, Jill Blankenship, and Oscar Balderrama are co-writing the episode and will also serve as executive producers alongside Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.
