Kevin Feige Named Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment

The president of Marvel Studios and mastermind behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige, has been named Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment. This position means that Feige will now be responsible for the overall creative direction of Marvel’s storytelling which expands to numerous creative mediums, including publishing, film, TV, and animation. According to Variety, no decisions have been made about any current projects or those in development.

Feige is currently working on multiple shows for the upcoming Disney Plus service. These shows are all focused on Marvel Cinematic Universe characters like Hawkeye, Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki, and Vision and Scarlet Witch.

Marvel Television, under Jeph Loeb, has slowly been leaning away from live-action television projects. Loeb’s division had numerous live-action shows on the air, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher, all six of which have been canceled within the past year.  There was also a live-action Ghost Rider series set up at Hulu, but that project has been scrapped.

For the immediate future, it appears that Marvel Television will be focused on animation as it is currently prepping four adult animated shows for Hulu: Howard the Duck, MODOKHit-Monkey, and Tigra and Dazzler. All four of those shows will then crossover in an event series called The Offenders.
