Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct revealed that the next character will be Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Byleth is the protagonist in the latest Fire Emblem game and was in charge of teaching and recruiting students while leading battles. The character was playable in both a male and female form, and it looks like both of those will be added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as well.
Since it launched last year, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has added four DLC characters: Joker, Banjo-Kazooie, Hero, and Terry Bogard. Byleth joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the next DLC to be released.
Challenger Pack 5 – Byleth will be available on January 28 for purchase. In video release by Nintendo’s Youtube channel Mr. Sakurai elaborates on how “Byleth” will play. Mobility is low, just slightly more agile than Robin. Also their grabs aren’t much good, which also lacks a long enough reach. But apart from that Byleth looks to be an OP DLC character to add to the roster. Watch the video linked above and Mr. Sakurai goes over the move set. Personally, I can’t wait to spike people online with Byleth’s up special.
Before the announcement non of the leaks seemed to be agreeing with each other over who was going to be revealed as the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character, which means that w could see another surprise addition to the already huge line-up.
